Summer solar heater do not have any moving parts and will not make any noise under normal condition. However, there is a chance that the parts on the solar heater or pipe connected to the solar heater degraded over the time. The condition of the parts and pipe might make noise due to vibration.
For noise troubleshooting, it was usually HARD to locate the location of the noise unless you have access in the ceiling and roof top. We recommend to contact us for an appointment to solve your noise issue.
Check valve faulty:
Located the check valve on the solar heater
Dismantle the check valve to check the spring of the check valve.
Check for backflow at the check valve.
If there is the spring is stuck and/or there is backflow, replace the faulty check valve.
Air lock in the solar heater or pipe:
Locate the nearest hot water outlet to the noise.
Turn on the outlet for the air to come out from the outlet.
This process usually take around 5 minute but you may turn it off once you felt that no air was coming out from the outlet.
You may repeat point 2.c once more if the problem did not get solve.

Locate the location of the pipe making the noise.
Check for loosen pipe strap that secure the pipe to the wall or roof truss.
Add, replace or resecure the strap if needed.
